Plot to kill Internet Explorer Revealed

Unable to reconcile the differences between IE and Firefox, web developers stage an unprecedented attack on theglobeandmail.com for all users who use Internet Explorer.Hello world!!!! You $-making%^&^%^

Toronto — If you can't beat them, make their lives hell.

That apparently is the motto of a secret network of web developers who have hacked into theglobeandmail.com's development and staging servers to launch a patch that will crash theglobeandmail.com article pages on Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser.

Upon clicking on an article, the user will see what is now dubbed "the alert box from hell": an error message telling users Internet Explorer cannot open your site and the operation is aborted. At this point, the user will be redirected to a webpage with a 404 error code, telling the user that their requested page could not be found.

The Globe and Mail team is very upset about this turn of events, especially since it is launching an "Upgrade Your Browser" campaign where an unsolicited message will appear informing users that the Globe will soon discontinue its support of the outdated and buggy, yet widely popular, sixth iteration of the Internet Explorer browser.

" Get the front-end monkeys to find the bug and fix it," declares Adnan from the Java Development team. "Can’t release with this, and we don’t even know which ticket is causing the problem."

"Call me a monkey again and feel the wrath of my lightsaber. Seriously." was the reply from Greg the Web Developer.
